Give a gift

Running until Friday 15th December 2017

The Give a Gift campaign is in place to facilitate the donation of toys and gifts to children between the ages of 12 months and 14 years, who will receive very few to no Christmas Presents on Christmas morning due to financial constraints.

There are sadly an unbelievable number of children in our district who are affected by poverty and the campaign gives members of the public a chance to purchase a toy or gift for a child in their local area and we make sure it reaches them ready for Christmas morning.

How to take part:

  • Buy a gift for a child between 6 months & 14 years of age

  • Take the gift to a drop point at one of our partner organisations

The gift will be collected from the drop off points by one of the team, checked for suitability and donated to a family who appeal for help, or to Child Services who are able to identify families who are in financial difficulty.

If you or someone you know is going to struggle to buy a gift this Christmas, then please get in touch.

You can write in to The Spalding and South Holland Voice, or email us with deals of the family you wish to be helped.

Please note, it is vital that we have a point of contact so that we can effectively make the donation.

Please note:

We are unable to accept perishable gifts, food, makeup or bath products.

We are also unable to accept toys without a CE label or in poor condition.

Please do not wrap the gifts as we need to check them before we donate them.

“I am absolutely delighted to be launching this years Give a Gift Campaign for our sixth year running.

This year, the campaign welcomes new partners, Ella’s Project incorporating Donate a Cuddle, Baytree Winter Wonderland, Karsten UK as well as our long standing partners, The Spalding and South Holland Voice, We’ll Let Your House, Sainsbury’s, Beals Department Store and South Holland District Council.

We have also welcomed my Boston based Estate Agency, Thomas Campbell Estate Agents and Boston Borough Council this year, in order to grow the campaign to our neighbouring Borough, Boston, in order to reach more local children than ever before.

As a father, I understand the importance in todays society of having a gift for your child or a child you care for at Christmas time. Christmas is not all about presents, but the fact is, that it is tradition and expected. This can cause a lot of stress for parents and carers on top of their finical burdens and stress over such a sensitive time of year. This is why this campaign is so important and helps families who have fallen on tough times for their own reasons.

We do not judge, we just help everyone we can.”
